Warmbluetig is a four-piece modern jazz ensemble drawing upon the interaction of folkloric storytelling with spontaneous improvisation. Led by Australian guitarist and composer, Danica Hobden, the music is heavily inspired by the Australian jazz music scene and its textural and gesture-rich approach to composition. The compositions set the scene for the musicians to explore their own personal expression of sincerity and melodrama, and explores weaving layers and rhythms, rich colours, playfulness and curious listening.
The band has performed in numerous venues and festivals in Hamburg and North Germany including ELBJAZZ 2024, JazzHall Summer Festival 2024, a JazzTied Television Production and performances with the Hamburger Ballett and acclaimed drummer Will Guthrie (FR/AUS). Warmbluetig recently released their debut album on vinyl, as part of a larger collaborative project between Sydney-based and Hamburg-based musicians.
